NC ranks 43rd in teacher pay, down from 22nd just 25 years ago. The average teacher here makes nearly $14,000 less than the national average. 30% have picked up a second job just to cover classroom costs.
Corporate income taxes keep dropping, which means less state money for the schools that need it most. And with no budget in place, teacher raises are frozen. Again.

Then ask your senator why the budget still isn't done. NC is the only state in America that couldn't pass one.
